Los Angeles, CA - April 23, 2018 -- Over 500 people showed up in Culver City last Friday night, all hoping to gain access to BudTrader Ball 2018. This annual celebrity cannabis mixer, thrown by top cannabis tech platform BudTrader.com, is known within the cannabis industry as the premiere place to see and be seen on 420.
The guest list of 300 VIP influencers, investors, celebrities and politicians who were inside BudTrader Ball 2018 included songwriter and producer Citizen Cope, MMA fighter and podcast host Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall, NFL pro and BudTrader investor Marvin Washington and United States Congressman Dana Rohrabacher. Attendees were treated with a speech from Congressman Rohrabacher, who has been a powerful voice for cannabis legalization in the U.S. Following the rousing speech given by the congressman, attendees were surprised by a video message from Former President of Mexico Vicente Fox. In his message, President Fox invited attendees of BudTrader Ball 2018 to attend his CANNAMEXICO World Summit in May and he even gave away complimentary tickets to all 300 attendees ( a $400 value).
As is typical for BudTrader’s notoriously over-the-top events, BudTrader Ball 2018 didn’t stop with speeches from some of the world’s top politicians. After the congressman left the stage, rap star Slim 400 picked the party back up with a performance of his hit song “Brusin” that had the dance floor packed with attendees of all corners of the cannabis and media industries. The dancing and mingling went on long into the night, with an amazing set by internationally celebrated DJ duo The Burgs.
The chic decor of BudTrader Ball 2018 added what seemed like a final touch of class to a first class night. Not only was there a four foot tall, custom carved ice sculpture bearing the BudTrader logo, but all around the 10,200 sq foot venue were runway models on pedestals, holding poses as “living mannequins”. Each creative pose was topped off by the models holding sponsors’ products.
A few of the high profile cannabis brands that sponsored BudTrader Ball 2018 included Refined Society Edibles, Bossman Vapes, Purity Petibles, Mighty Meds Vapes, Speakeasy 710, CMX Distribution and Willie’s Reserve (owned by country star Willie Nelson). These and other high profile cannabis brand sponsors contributed to BudTrader.com’s signature BudTrader Ball 2018 VIP swag bags, which were estimated to contain over one thousand dollars in free cannabis products and event exclusives. At exactly midnight, the security and armored car company, Hardcar, another event sponsor, pulled up with their armored car filled with swag bags, and Hardcar employees were on hand in tactical gear (nice show business touch) to distribute the bags.
For food and drink, the 300 VIP guests at BudTrader Ball 2018 were treated to gourmet custom grilled cheese sandwiches with exotic choices like white truffle oil and slow cooked bacon jam, along with state of the art cocktails. With an open air patio for guests to freely medicate, some attendees were quite happy to spend much of the evening tasting all the unique gourmet fare. Attendees posed for pictures on the red carpet while photographers from magazines 420 book, Sensi and Cannabis Now and Culture, CBS News, NBC and Telemundo and other media outlets took photos and conducted interviews. In addition, BudTrader also provided guests with an open air photo booth, where guests captured hilarious photos with props.
BudTrader.com CEO Brad McLaughlin hosted the night and was seen all around the venue shaking hands and mingling with the 300 influential guests.
