The 420 Book Magazine, Cannabis Talk 101 Radio, Kush Bottles, Austin Legal Group, The Marijuana Journal and NFU Media’s Notes from the Underground Sign on to Sponsor BudTrader’s Events at SDCC July 19-21

SAN DIEGO, CA - July 28, 2018 - The world’s largest legal online cannabis marketplace, BudTrader.com, has announced the top-level sponsors for the brand’s BudTrader Experience at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con. Top-level sponsors of the interactive broadcasting experience and unofficial Comic-Con after parties are The 420 Book Magazine, Cannabis Talk 101, Kush Bottles, Austin Legal Group, The Marijuana Journal and NFU Media’s Notes from the Underground.

BudTrader’s CEO Brad McLaughlin says he was careful when selecting this years’ sponsors for his Comic-Con extravaganza. “Every sponsor of BudTrader Experience at Comic-Con are friends of BudTrader, and have been integral in pushing the cannabis industry into new and exciting places,” says McLaughlin. “Represented within the event sponsors we’ve got print and online media, terrestrial and online radio, a top-notch consulting firm and the premiere company for cannabis packaging. I only wanted the finest brands represented under the BudTrader name!”

Gina Austin, managing attorney at Austin Legal Group, says she felt it was important for her firm, which is among the top cannabis law firms, to sponsor BudTrader for this big event. “Austin Legal Group is proud to sponsor BudTrader once again this year. Their platform continues to advance legal and licensed cannabis business, which is positive for the industry. Brad [McLaughlin, CEO of BudTrader] and I share the belief that no business should be singled out or mistreated due to its involvement with cannabis, and that it is time to bring cannabis into the mainstream.”

Another sponsor, The 420 Book Magazine, spokesperson Matt Samet had this to say, “We supported BudTraders yacht party at comic-Con last year and we will continue to support their events. BudTrader’s attendance at mainstream events like San Diego Comic-Con is important to the cannabis industry. The cannabis community shouldn’t have to hide any longer.” The 420 Book will feature the BudTrader team and special coverage of the BudTrader Comic-Con Experience in its next issue. Radio programs Cannabis Talk 101 and NFU Media’s Notes from the Underground are among many TV and radio shows, both local and national, which will be broadcasting/streaming live from the third floor of Quad Ale House throughout the weekend. The brand plans to host quite a few celebrities who are coming through for interviews and after parties, and to claim a coveted BudTrader Swag Bag. BudTrader parties are notorious for their epic VIP swag bags, which will be filled with $500 worth of gourmet and specialty cannabis products and other gifts from BudTrader.com and their sponsors.

Over 250,000 people are expected to flood the streets of downtown San Diego as the world’s largest comic book and nerd culture convention gets underway. McLaughlin says that he hopes that every single one of those quarter of a million attendees will stop by the BudTrader experience to get some “free swag” and “puff and unwind in our consumption lounge”.

At Comic-Con this weekend, the brand will be selling a small number of “Dude, Where’s My Yacht?” limited-edition BudTrader t-shirts (also available at https://budtraderstore.com), which are a call back to 2017’s Comic-Con, where BudTrader was controversially ejected after just two days at the convention. The brand’s superyacht disappeared from the 5th Avenue Landing overnight on the last day of San Diego Comic-Con. The reason for BudTrader’s unexpected ejection is still unclear, but many in the cannabis industry speculate that it is another instance of bias shown by large corporate entities against cannabis businesses. BudTrader’s presence at Comic Con in 2017 was covered by publications such as High Times, Times of San Diego, The San Diego Union Tribune and over 400 other news outlets.

The BudTrader Experience takes place this weekend (Thursday, July 19, Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21) at Quad Ale House, located at 868 Fifth Ave (Floor 3), San Diego, CA 92101. The live broadcasting event and other exclusive experiences will be happening from 4PM - 8PM each day, and will be open to the public. Every night, the BudTrader Experience is going to go off with crazy themed parties from 9PM-2AM. Thursday night will be the Opening Ceremony, Friday is a Costume Party and Saturday is the much anticipated White Out! Party. BudTrader’s night-time events are guest list only, however, a limited number of tickets are available for purchase on EventBrite. All attendees for day and night events must be 21 and older with ID.
